Tom grew up in a farming community is southeast Missouri, swimming in streams with his dad and siblings, catching crawdads for fishing expeditions, and enjoying all the other benefits of growing up in a small town. Tom earned BS and MS degrees in civil engineering from the University of Dayton. He has consulted in that field his entire career with an emphasis on mitigating the impact of development on the environment. In addition to the consulting work, Tom served as an adjunct professor in engineer mechanics for over 30 years. Tom and his wife Marilyn enjoy working in nature, hiking, biking, and visiting with their nine grandchildren.
