Ken Moran

Ken Moran has been a BCWA member since 2020. He currently serves as a Board Member and Chair for the Land Acquisitions and Projects Committee where he leads overall coordination of the Spotted Turtle Trail Project.

Ken grew up hiking the Appalachian trail and has never lost his love of the outdoors. This love continued throughout his 28 years of United States Air Force service where he retired as a Brigadier General in 2013.  Ken possesses a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master’s degree in National Resource Strategy.

Ken’s love of the outdoors is shared by his wife of 35 years, Tracy, and three kids Adam, Justin, and Kendra. Tracy is a graduate of Wright State University’s nursing program and loves walking and hiking with Ken. Adam and Justin were avid Boy Scouts and helped Ken fall back in love with camping and inspired him to serve as the Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 162. Adam now lives in Texas since obtaining a Computer Science degree. Justin is attending medical school at Ohio University. Kendra is enrolled at Wright State University in the Biology program and will be following her passion for animals following graduation. They attend Queen of Apostles Community Parish, where Ken served as the Lay Community Coordinator and now serves on the Parish Council.

Now that Ken is semi-retired his hobbies and interests include running, biking, camping, and hiking. Although never setting any records, he enjoys running marathons and the week-long Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure.
