Discover insights from plant community research by Dave Nolin, shedding light on historical land use in the Dayton, Ohio region. Talon Silverhorn (Eastern Shawnee Tribe) offers a glimpse into the past with a brief history of Oldtown, once a thriving Shawnee village along the river’s floodplains. 

Learn about the ongoing development of Great Council State Park at Oldtown, where an interpretive center and restored native prairie will immerse visitors in the area’s rich history. Dive into this captivating slice of local heritage!

Seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 9:30am. Program starts at 10:00am and is expected to end by Noon.
